Pickleball

We offer outdoor pickleball on our singles tennis court with the following rules:

• The Irvington Club is allowed to have pickleball played on the outdoor singles court between noon and 5:00pm on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

• Quiet paddles and quiet balls must be used for play between 2:30pm and 5:00pm, but all types of paddles and balls are allowed between noon and 2:30pm.

• Only four players may play pickleball at any one time, i.e., there can be one doubles match or two singles matches but not two doubles matches at any one time.

• There will be no play on Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, or Easter.

• If players play outside of their 75-minute time period, the Irvington Club will be fined $250 – the cost of any penalties will be passed on to the players who fail to comply with this rule.

4th Annual Irvington Pickleball Tournament Registration Now Open

Irvington Club Members 16 years and older are invited to sign up for our annual doubles pickleball tournament. It will be held Saturday, September 26th from 11am-3pm at The People’s Courts: 2700 NE 82nd Ave.

The tournament will be broken into 3 categories this year using the self-rating system:  

Rising Intermediate 3.0  

Strong Intermediate 3.5  

Advanced 4.0 +  

Registration: The tournament entry fee is $25 per person.

You may register with a doubles partner or as an individual. You can sign up with either a male or female partner. If you register as an individual, you will be assigned a partner in your skill division. 

Please register no later than Sept 23rd.  Space is limited to 12 teams per level.   

Format: The tournament is a round robin format with a medal round for the teams that advance. Winners in each level will receive swag and their names immortalized on the pickleball winners’ plaque. We encourage competitors to stay and cheer on their friends once they are eliminated.  Please note that The People’s Courts has a full-service bar and restaurant and that no outside food and beverage is allowed.
