Michelle Waters is a self-taught artist from the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles California whose work is a loving communion with the natural world. Through magical surrealism, portraiture, still life, and altar making, Michelle conveys stories of gratitude and belonging, with a strong desire to center mother earth.

Join us for all the fun including exciting tennis matches, nightly meals, raffles, and socializing. Whether you are playing or watching, this tournament gives us the opportunity to get together and enjoy time at the Club with fellow members.

The Irvington Club has a very important and unique mission, and this is a great opportunity to reflect on the Club’s efforts to diversify the membership and to create a more inclusive community. Participants will explore their own identity and how their experiences have shaped the way they interact with other members. We will discuss what can get in the way of effective collaboration across differences. We will conclude by looking at some case studies related to equity topics and discussing the best way to respond. Previous attendees said they found the information provided in the session to be helpful and appreciated the opportunity for small group dialogue. We are excited to be able to offer the workshop again this fall, and hope to see you there!

In collaboration with The Immigrant Project, we invite you to hear the powerful story of Thao Nguyen who was born in Vietnam where she always felt like an outsider. As one of 23,000 mixed-race children left behind by U.S. servicemen, she was constantly ridiculed because she looked different. But even as a young girl she was determined not to let that mockery rule her life. She walked past the catcalls every day on her way to school and now returns to visit her old neighborhood in Vietnam as a successful citizen of the world.
